Splash! 2003 was the best thing ever. I don't even have the right words for that - best contest, best concert, best atmosphere, best weather, simply the best. Thanks Chemnitz, thanks Phlatliners, thanks Tilman and everyone at COS, thanks to the Flaake-Men, Detlef Richter, all the locals that helped build the ramps... Thanks. That was... The best. Ever.
Vert:
1. Sascha Müller (old and new German Champion)
2. Jörn Schreiber
3. Volker Petersen
Street:
1. Kilian Heuberger
2. Roland Oppenheimer
3. Stefan Lehnert
See y'all next year, no?

Splash! 2003 has to be the best thing that ever happened... There's close to 30.000 people, the weather is perfect, and the lineup is... the bomb. Redman tore the place down tonight. We watched from the platform that holds vertramp and streetcourse - it's like sitting on a yacht. You don't get to see 30.000 people from a yacht that often though, and you'll probably never see them bouncing to "Smash Sumthing", "Time 4 Sum Axion" and the like. I'm in heaven.
At the same time I'm in hell, because it bugs the fuck out of me that Jan Richter isn't here to see that our dream came true, and that it turned out exactly as we had it in mind. Tefla & Jaleel held a little ceremony for Jan during their gig and had a memorial graffiti up on stage - good one. Jan is deeply missed by all the heads behind the Splash! Festival, I can feel that. I still miss him a lot. Finally put a stone onto his grave, that was something I wanted to do for a long time - seems like an eternity to me. Jan Richter + Oct. 3rd, 2002 - Rest In Peace my brother. This whole thing was for you and I know you're responsible for the weather here. Thanks for everything.
