Smoke Kills

This is so funny... Yeah, it's probably gonna end that way.

More new music?

Then go Dende! There's a new track from his upcoming EP, too. Good stuff.

Just returned from Cologne, where I was lucky enough to document a video-shoot. Performing artists were King Kool Savas and Lumidee, with folks like Dirty, Caput, Azad, DJ Nikon, and the winners of some Nike Freestyle competitions having guest-appearances. Something good always comes with something bad, so the day was a very long one. I got up at 5am yesterday, drove to Cologne in around four hours, and spent what felt like most of the day with one of my favourite pasttimes: waiting. Whenever they would film, I would shoot... Of course I took pics all the time, but not enough to fill the gaps in between shots - they were shooting 35mm, and each scene took unbelievable amounts of time to set up. Oh, I interviewed Lumi of course, on special request from Jo. You'll probably see it in the Titus Magalog, along with a couple of shots from the set. By the time we were done it was after midnight and some guy named Noel was kind enough to let me crash on his couch, but not before he unpacked two giant bags filled with Basket-, and Baseball-Caps, and Basketball-DVDs. Tons of them. He's selling that shit over the net or something, and it kinda looked as if he made a living out of that. Anyway, thanks a lot, Noel! I woke up at 11am this morning and left as quiet as I could. Downstairs, into the Golf, onto the road, straight for a small breakfast in Münster, straight on to PHP Photo in Hamburg. I am so, so curious how the pictures turn out. They need another cover, so I hope like a motherfucker that I can provide one. Mike from Optik Records showed me a first design and I have to say: the picture looked good to great on a CD. For some reason I got a stranger, stronger feeling than when I first got the books out of that. Looked nice. Thanks, Mike!

Oops two...

I did it again. No iPod this time though - just a nice Nikon MF 2,8/55 Micro AIS lens. I'm almost sure MF stands for motherfucker... Nice thing to have. A new one would have cost more than twice as much.

Jaha!

Boschäftigt?

Ooops...

I accidentally got myself a new iPod on eBay yesterday evening. I really thought someone would pass my highest bid, but no one did. I can't be mad at myself though, because it seems to be a good one. I hate those docking stations - and if you put a wheel on something I rather have it spinning. Touchpads are no good. So, this one still has the Firewire on top, 10GB (which is more than enough for me), it's brandnew, thick, heavy, and hopefully not a pussy when it's comes to low temperatures. I think that the iTrip fucks with the batteries pretty bad as well, but I'll see what happens with the new one.

Gave the Davidstrasse-Blog a new look, and now I'm waiting for Quirin to arrive.

Later!

Thanks,

Pille, for these kind words. But, without wanting to brag, wait till you see the Blumentopf-Stuff in the next Playboard...

Tonight?

A new Board and Pant!

I was a little sad bidding farewell to that BMW this morning, but whatever. What's way worse, my iPod starts bugging out as soon as he gets cold. I already thought about taping it to my nuts... Can't skip then, though. Now I'm in front of the screen, catching up on communications. Uh, nice term. Breakfast would be nice at some point, too.

I forgot Sönke!

It's over. The COS-Series 2003 is done, and it couldn't have been any better. DJ Mimi did not manage to hold his first place, new german champion is Fabian Neugebauer. He won the contest and earned enough points to leave Thomas Weber and Mimi behind in the overall placement. Skated so good... I knew he could do it. I knew it when I saw him skating in Aurich. That's why I didn't hesitate to bet Carsten Bauer when he bloated: "I put ten on Mimi!" My ten were faster on Fabian than Mack McKelton is on a rail. Fabian did it. I earned ten Euros. Yay!

I won't even try to get into the party yesterday - you missed it, and you should feel bad about that. A place packed with skateboarders, free beer for all the riders, Maceo rocking the turntables... It doesn't get any better than that. The only bad thing about the contest were those idiots that kept dropping into the ramps in between other peoples' runs. I kept telling them to stop - and I tend to become pretty rude at times - and they nodded, smiled, made the "one more"-sign, and just kept doing it. None of them made it to the finals, and I paid back their disrespect by telling them their behaviour would cause bad karma and therefore fuck up their runs. I told them this while they were picking up their boards after bailing tricks in their runs, and I could see that they felt it. They won't learn though. I hope they do, but I think they won't.

Oh yeah, the beamer... Great thing to travel with. Didn't even guzzle up too much fuel. Starts being fun at a 140km/h, and travelling at 220km/h feels like cruising the mall. Being member of the ADAC is a good thing - even if it's just for cheap rentals.

So, I just got back, and I need to get some rest. Now. Later.

I almmost forgot Sönke again. At the price-giving ceremony I swiftly introduced all the heads behind the COS and thanked them for a successful and fun year, and I forgot Soenke Bunge, our Skate-Medic. This hit me like a brick when I was already on the way home, and I feel so ashamed, I can't even tell how sorry I am. Thank you Soenke!!
