Simply The Best
Went to see Die beste Band der Welt in Bremen yesterday. The best band of the world (from Berlin) was supported by the best band on earth (from Hamburg). And if this doesn't sound funny to you already... I don't know. Danny mentioned he was going there while he was talking to someone on the phone, so I was like: "You're going? And I'm not?" He replied: "Well, tag along if you like!", so it was on. Oh, to clear the fog: the bands I'm talking about go by the names of "Die Ärzte" and "Fettes Brot". I've never seen Die Ärzte play live, so I was very thrilled that I got this opportunity, and I like Fettes Brot as well - a good, very funny combination. The funniest thing must've been Farin Urlaub when he announced that he went to see a Hip Hop concert and added quickly: "Please don't shoot me! I was wearing headphones the whole time, I swear!" A little later Fettes Brot came back on stage for a short and even more funny Punkrock vs. Hip Hop battle, and they ended up being carried off stage by some huge bouncers - that really got me to suffer, because I'm getting sick and my throat was hurting badly, but I couldn't stop laughing, which in turn made me cough. Painful. Die Ärzte played well over 150 minutes for roughly 15000 humans... I don't know how that mass managed to squeeze into the Stadthalle. It was quite an experience. Thanks Danny! Thanks Malte, even if I don't know you, for your place on the guestlist!
Plan for today: try to regain health, buy slide frames and presents. I love record labels that pay fast.

Gute Idee Pille!
Echt. Ist eine gute Idee, Pille. Mach doch nen Mix!
I tend to do that myself sometimes.
Days full of action - I delivered my tax yesterday. What I expected to be a big deal turned out to be exactly five numbers that I had to fill in. I did, and was free to go. Nice. A little later Reno MC called and asked me if I had time to shoot some pictures with his acting class, so I ended up taking a lot of pictures of their last rehearsal. I got to see the play in the evening as well (good one) and managed to take home a bottle Chateaubriand without myself noticing it.
Something else? Lots of scanning. Even more to scan now. I better get going while Jo is still at the bar.

Mine?
CKY was a blast. The interview was funny, Jess Marghera is a funny guy. So are Vernon and Chad, even though Chad seemed a little strange to me. Rock'nRoll to the bone. I was really happy afterwards that I started the itw with Jess alone, because it allowed me to get all those Bam questions out of the way, and I was happy that Chad joined towards the end, because he gave a clear signal that it was time to stop talking on tape when I couldn't comprehend anymore what the fuck he was talking about. I hope they get the attention (and record sales) they actually deserve over here, because apart from being the band Bam Marghera's brother plays in, they kicked some ass live on stage. Being a rap-fan myself, you probably know how picky I am when it comes to harder music - there is some I like, but it's just a couple of bands. CKY busted the door and got a place in my collection within the first two songs they played - pure energy, real Rock'n'Fuckin'Roll. So good. Thanks to everybody who sent in questions - I think I asked them all.
So much for friday. We had a posse of five guys from Jena as guests (they came only for the CKY-Show - go figure, they were really worth the journey) and if any of you reads this: thank you very much for being some perfect guests. They brought own drinks and food, and they didn't even use the shower, I think... Doesn't really make me want to sit in their car, but whatever - I'm not too fond of cleaning the bathroom either. Hope to see you again soon!
Yesterday Jo and I broke our record for late-breakfast: 6pm. Stayed in bed until 4pm or something - very relaxed. Went to see "Finding Nemo" in the evening and enjoyed it. The birds rule. "Mine?" So funny. I'm still waiting for an animated movie in which the coolest character plays the main role though. Like Scratch in "Ice Age" - Scratch was the best thing in the whole movie, and only had three measly appearances or something. Same with the birds in "Nemo"... Well, if there's only one word in their lines, I guess it's kinda hard to put them into the center of attention. Scratch playing the main character in something, I'd like to see that! He doesn't even have one word, but he could easily fill a whole movie.
Today is tax-day. Already overdue. That means I'm off to sorting bills now. Yay.
